Allan was awarded degrees in Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University, and was admitted to the Supreme Courts of NSW and the ACT in 1975.
He founded KJB Law with Ken Johnston some 20 years ago, progressing from junior to senior partner and overseeing the development of KJB Law into the strong, progressive company that it is today. Allan transitioned into his current Consultant role in July 2011.
Allan’s specialisation is commercial law encompassing business advice in the areas related to sales and purchases of business enterprises, leasing commercial premises, advising on business structures and succession planning, business agreements such as required for partnerships or shareholders, finance arrangements and franchising.
Allan’s long active involvement in the not for profit sector means he regularly advises the sector in relation to decisions about constitutions and structures.
Allan’s involvement has been with organisations involved with youth work, education at the primary school level, rural youth development, science and maths advancement for young people and various Christian organisations.
Escaping the Law – enjoys travelling with wife Alice within Australia and overseas (especially to visit their UK based son), bush walking, movies and exploring. Tennis is a long standing recreation; movie going and volunteering for community and church organisations. The old surf ski still gets use.
